Autopsy camera and lighting services

Tomorrow’s Creative supported several series of Autopsy: The Last Hours Of…, providing camera assistant, Director of Photography and lighting cameraman services across drama reconstructions and factual interviews.

Drama reconstruction camera support

For the dramatic reconstructions, our camera assistant supported the Directors of Photography with focus pulls, lens changes and camera rigging. The production used Sony FS7 cameras with Canon L-series lenses to create controlled, cinematic images while treating each subject’s story sensitively.

Factual interviews and lighting

James Melrose also worked as Director of Photography and lighting cameraman on contributor and expert interviews. Across several series, he filmed and lit hundreds of interviews in studios and locations around London. As a result, the programme retained a clear and consistent visual style despite the changing environments.

Episodes covered figures including Bruce Lee, Janis Joplin, Steve McQueen, Judy Garland and Cory Monteith. The crew therefore adapted its approach to suit each story while maintaining the programme’s established investigative tone.
