Tomorrow’s Creative provided Director of Photography services for Inside M&S at Christmas, an access-led factual television special produced by South Shore Productions for ITV.
The 2022 programme takes viewers behind the scenes at M&S Food during its busiest season, following staff, product developers, suppliers and store teams as the Christmas range is prepared and launched.
James Melrose worked as a Director of Photography, contributing cinematography to the programme’s observational documentary coverage. The filming combined real working environments with contributor-led sequences and polished seasonal imagery.
Access-led filming required a responsive and unobtrusive approach across offices, retail stores, suppliers and busy food-production sites. The camera work captured genuine moments while maintaining clear composition, considered lighting and a consistent broadcast finish.
