Beyond the Scorecard Episode 4 Director of Photography services
Tomorrow’s Creative provided Director of Photography services for the Newcastle sequences in Episode 4 of Beyond the Scorecard, a five-part sports documentary series produced by Sunny Side Up Media for Sky Sports Golf.
The series follows amateur golfer Josh Simpson as he travels across the UK while attempting to break the world record for the most golf courses played in one year. Along the way, he meets people whose lives have been transformed by the sport.
James Melrose’s contribution focused on sequences featuring Matthew “Murph” Murphy, lead singer and guitarist of The Wombats. Josh and Murph play crazy golf while discussing how the sport has helped Murph manage anxiety and depression.
The filming combined active gameplay with an open, personal conversation. Responsive camera work captured movement and spontaneous moments without interrupting the contributors, while keeping the personal story at the centre of the sequence.
