Tomorrow’s Creative provided Director of Photography services for an LV= branded sports film featuring England cricketer Jonny Bairstow and his mother, Janet Bairstow.
Directed by Brandon Thomas for the For the Love of the Game series, the film explores the people and experiences that helped shape Jonny’s journey into professional cricket.
James Melrose filmed Jonny’s interview at a cricket ground closely connected to his career. The location needed to remain recognisable, so the cinematography balanced controlled interview lighting with the natural daylight across the ground.
An Aputure 600d provided the key light, while a Sony FE 50mm F1.2 GM lens created natural portrait perspective and controlled depth of field. The approach retained the setting’s context while keeping attention firmly on Jonny.
